Utility Design

4Sight focuses our design efforts on “Dry” Utilities that facilitate our clients overall project completion.

Gas Design

4Sight has the expertise to assist with concept planning and primary route selection for gas distribution projects.

  • Liaise with the Utility Company design team to collect design specifications
  • Review project design requirements and Utility Company “As-Built” Drawings
  • Complete records requests to collect information for the project area and liaise with other utilities for any additional required information
  • Review Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) data and recommend additional investigations to aid in utility conflict identification
  • Identify all potential known utility conflicts associated with the project
  • Follow third-party requirements to confirm conformance with the project design and applicable standards
  • Identify opportunities to reduce the scope of utility impacts through project design modifications
  • Propose the most efficient utility relocation route including a utility relocation strategy
  • Complete process for municipal consent (e.g., TPUCC)
  • Schedule, chair and minute project-related Utility Coordination meetings
  • Represent Utility Company at municipal capital project Utility Coordination meetings

Telecom Design

4Sight has the expertise to create and or review 3rd party attachment permits for submission to utility Pole owners.

  • Understands all the current CSA C22.3 No1, ESA 22/04 requirements to create and P.Eng. certify the permits.
  • Our resources have worked with numerous Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) providing them fully engineered ESA 22/04 permit packages to apply for attachments on Utility Poles.
  • Our resources have been involved with 3rd party attachment permits since the inception of ESA22/04 keeping current with all the bulletins to assist the ISP with make ready mitigation resulting in savings in cost and time.
  • By having an understanding of both the ISP permit packages and what the Pole Owner’s needs are, we can review 3rd party submissions on behalf of Pole Owners.
