NO WORRIES HERE ABOUT DAMAGING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES! RIGHT? WOULDN’T IT BE NICE IF WE COULD ALL SAY YES?

Many project owners can, but many cannot. This post is going to be for those that say “YES” to Subsurface Utility Engineering. You see, I was around when it all began. I am 83 years old now, retired, and writing my memoirs. But I was working for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in 1991 when SUE first came to the attention of FHWA engineers. So every week, I am going to share something about the history of SUE, which will include the names of the pioneers, the promotion of SUE in the early days, lessons learned over the years, success and failures, and more. I hope you will enjoy my story of SUE. I will begin next week with a look at how and when SUE began.

Do you know who “invented” Subsurface Utility Engineering?
