Utilities – West Toronto Tower Relocation

Owner: Hydro One

Client: Gannet Fleming

Project: HONI – West Toronto Tower Relocation Project

Description:  The Hydro One and Metrolinx West Toronto Transmission Tower Relocation Project supports the electrification of the Barrie Rail Corridor. This involves relocating existing overhead transmission lines to a location outside the existing corridor. The project includes constructing new junction stations at each end of the proposed tunnel for transitioning overhead to underground lines. These upgrades ensure reliable electricity supply while accommodating Metrolinx infrastructure.

Role:  4Sight’s role was to provide Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination services to evaluate the ideal route selection and methodology for relocating existing HV Transmission Towers outside of the existing Metrolinx Rail Corridor.
