CCTV and other camera systems are typically used for locating non-tonable utilities such as sewers or empty plastic conduits. These systems have a few key advantages over basic sonde locating as they have option to have a sonde built into the camera head. This allows the user to not only detect the end of the camera head but also identify any tee connections or other useful information that has been observed. These lines also have the ability to be connected directly onto, so the entire line becomes traceable, saving the locator(s) time and efforts from just locating the sonde. The onboard computer allows for user input as well as recording high quality video of the line and saving to multiple storage options. 

Like sonding, these systems need an access point on the utility that can be opened in order to push the camera into the line.
