A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the 2026 Engineers Cup on Saturday. 4Sight may not have taken the win, but we had an awesome day! Big congratulations to the Municipal Engineers Association for winning the first-ever Recreation League Utility Cup, to Crozier for taking home this year’s Engineers Cup, and to Paul Wilcock for winning our gift basket raffle and Blue Jays tickets. We can’t wait to share how much we raised for the Andrew Watson P.Eng. Scholarship next week.
There’s nothing like stepping away from projects and plans to connect as a team. We hit the lanes last week and proved that teamwork matters just as much off the job as it does on it. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a fun night!
We're proud to mark 5 years as a member of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce. A big thank you to Kerry Ann Large for taking the time to come and visit us at the 4Sight office and present Lawrence Arcand with our certificate. We value the relationships, opportunities and advocacy the Chamber provides and look forward to continuing to grow alongside our local business community.
4Sight President, Lawrence Arcand, will be attending the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) Queen's Park Day 2026 on Tuesday 31st March. We don’t just work within the policies that dictate our industry, we actively help to develop them. From ASCE 38 and ASCE 75 to CSA S250 and TAC guidelines, 4Sight has played a direct role in advancing best practices across the utility engineering profession. Events like this are a natural extension of that work, allowing us the space to connect with decision-makers and represent our profession. Thanks for the opportunity ACEC.
Some of the 4Sight team attended the Connect: Women Building Tomorrow event last week. Being surrounded by so many women sharing their stories, challenges, and passions was incredibly inspiring. It was a reminder of how powerful it is when women show up for one another, create space, and lift each other up. Thank you Whitby Chamber of Commerce for the conversations, the insights, and the feeling of community that carried through the entire event.
Next week we will be at the AOLS 2026 conference at the Hilton, Markham from 3rd-5th March. If you're attending then please stop by at Table 6 and say hello, we would love to see you there.
The 4Sight came together for our annual company meeting at the Whitby head office. With the weather making travel difficult, we weren’t able to have the full team there in person. Thankfully, everyone could still join online, so we had the whole group together to connect, collaborate, and set our direction for the year ahead. The day was a strong reflection of our core values:
• Excellence in the work we deliver
• Integrity in how we show up for clients, partners, and each other
• Innovation in how we solve problems and reduce utility risk early
• Humility in how we listen, learn, and improve
• And plenty of Fun with our Marshmallow Challenge!
Thanks to all the team for doing what you do best, and to our clients and partners for the trust you place in us.
In October, we hosted an Open House and welcomed our clients, partners, associates, and friends to celebrate the official opening of our head office at 2100 Forbes Street in Whitby!
It was a wonderful afternoon of connection, conversation, and celebration, and it was made even more special as it coincided with our 5th anniversary as a proudly 🍁 Canadian company.
We were honoured to have Whitby Mayor Elizabeth Roy, along with John Henry, Regional Chair & CEO of the Regional Municipality of Durham, and from the Whitby Chamber of Commerce, CEO Karey Anne Large, A.C.E, and Board Member Alex Snyder join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark this milestone moment.
Endless thanks to our amazing 4Sight team, as nothing we do would be possible without your heart, talent, and teamwork.
We were honoured to partner and support other local firms, Crave Donuts, Three Dog Winery, and Little Beast Brewery who provided drinks and snacks for the event.
Also, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out. Your support means so much to us. Here’s to the next five years of innovation, collaboration, and growth!
Skill, precision, and teamwork—our Associates brought it all to the Locate Rodeo!
At 4Sight Utility Engineers, we are proud to recognize our Associates for the many ways they contribute to advancing our industry. One recent highlight was the ORCGA Locate Rodeo, an annual event that showcases the skill, accuracy, and professionalism of utility locators from across Ontario.
We are thrilled to share that Jon Buisman earned 2nd place in the Gas Locating category. This outstanding accomplishment speaks to Jon’s technical expertise and the precision required in Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE).
We also applaud Ian Gillis, who competed again this year after earning 1st place in Water Locating at a previous Rodeo. Ian’s continued involvement underscores the strength and consistency of our field team.
Events like the Locate Rodeo don’t just celebrate competition—they highlight the importance of safe digging practices, industry collaboration, and professional growth. We are especially grateful to our colleagues Kelly Whitmore and Scott Schreiber, who generously volunteered their time to support the event’s success.
Our Guiding Principles come to life when our team steps up at events like the Locate Rodeo.
We believe in celebrating not only project milestones but also the professional achievements of our Associates. Participating in industry events like the ORCGA Locate Rodeo reflects our commitment to Serving our Associates, Serving our Clients, and Embracing an Innovative and Entrepreneurial Spirit—the Guiding Principles that drive us forward.
Congratulations once again to Jon, Ian, Kelly, and Scott—your efforts are an excellent example of 4Sight teamwork in action.
We are proud to offer a one-time-only $1,000 scholarship each year through the 4Sight LEAP Program (Learning, Education, and Achievement Pathways), supporting the graduating high school students of our full-time team members as they begin their post-secondary journeys.
The LEAP Program recognizes every eligible high school graduate, including children, stepchildren, and other dependents for whom the employee holds a parental or guardianship role. Now in its second year, this initiative is one of the ways we celebrate the personal milestones that matter to our team — and the people who matter most to them.
This year, we are thrilled to recognize Benny Guest, son of our Executive Assistant, Rebecca Guest. Benny will be attending George Brown College in Toronto this fall to study Graphic Design.
Our inaugural LEAP recipient, Isabelle Guest, Benny’s sister, recently completed her first year in Political Science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
We look forward to celebrating many more LEAP recipients in the years ahead.
Congratulations, Benny. We are all cheering you on!
